Home Screen Widgets
Cruise Buddy includes home screen widgets so your next cruise is visible without opening the app. They work on both iOS and Android and update automatically as your trip approaches and while you're sailing.

The three widgets

| Cruise Countdown | A compact countdown to your next upcoming cruise. |
| Upcoming Cruise | Your next cruise with its route, dates and balance status. |
| Current Cruise | The cruise you're on now — status, the day's port and the next stop, with conditions. |
The Current Cruise widget falls back to showing your next upcoming cruise when you aren't currently sailing, so it's never empty if you have a trip booked.
Adding a widget
Widgets are added from your phone's home screen, not from inside Cruise Buddy:
- iOS — touch and hold the home screen, tap + (or Edit → Add Widget), search for Cruise Buddy, choose a widget size and tap Add Widget.
- Android — touch and hold the home screen, tap Widgets, find Cruise Buddy, then drag the widget you want into place.
You can add more than one, and resize them where your device allows.
How they stay up to date
Cruise Buddy writes a small, privacy-safe summary of your next and current cruise that the widgets read. It contains only what the widgets display — cruise name, ship, ports, dates, countdown, balance status and the day's conditions — and never your documents, people details or journal. The summary refreshes as you use the app and as dates roll over.
Not seeing the latest details?
Open Cruise Buddy once to let it refresh the widget summary. The operating system also limits how often widgets redraw, so a change may take a little while to appear.
Privacy
Widgets read only the summary described above — they can't see anything behind your app lock, including People records. If you'd rather not show trip details on your home screen, simply don't add the widgets, or remove them by touching and holding the widget and choosing Remove.
