Docs Tab

The Docs tab stores files attached to the cruise as a whole — booking confirmations, e-tickets, insurance, vaccination certificates, anything you might need on the day. Documents specific to a single port or sea day live on that day's Documents tab instead.

Adding a document

Tap the + button to attach a file. Cruise Buddy uses the device's file picker, so you can pull from:

• Files / Documents on the device.
• Photos for an image already on your camera roll.
• iCloud Drive, Google Drive, Dropbox and other connected providers (via the system picker).

Cruise Buddy makes a copy of the file and stores it locally — the original stays where it was. Any file type works, but PDFs and images preview inside the app.

Send files in from other apps

You can also share a file straight to Cruise Buddy from Mail, Files, Photos or a browser using the system share sheet, then choose which cruise, day, travel booking or person it belongs to. See Importing Documents from Other Apps.

Document rows

Each row shows:

• The original filename.
• The file type icon (PDF, image, generic).
• The date the document was added.
• A preview thumbnail for images.

Tap a row to open the file. Cruise Buddy uses the system's default viewer.

Editing and deleting

Long-press a document or use the action menu on the detail view to:

• Rename — change the displayed filename.
• Replace — swap the underlying file while keeping the row.
• Share — send the file via the system share sheet.
• Delete — remove the document from this cruise. The local copy is removed; the original is untouched.

Where do these files live?

Documents are stored inside Cruise Buddy's app data folder. They're included in local backup exports when you generate a backup, and they're carried in the encrypted bundle when you share a cruise (subject to size limits — large files may be truncated and replaced with a placeholder note in the imported copy).
