Your Cruise Buddy Account
Your Cruise Buddy account is what puts the same cruises on your phone, your tablet and your computer. You sign in with your email address — there is no password to create and none to forget.

Creating an account
- Open app.cruise-buddy.app and choose Create account.
- Enter your name and email address, then tap Email me a registration link.
- Open the email and tap the link.
Your account is created when you tap the link, not before. Next, Cruise Buddy asks you to turn on sync and save your recovery code.
Signing in
Choose Sign in, enter the email address you registered with, and tap Email me a sign-in link. Open the email on the device you want to sign in on and tap the link.
- A link works once and expires after 15 minutes.
- Signing in never creates an account. If you haven't registered, choose Create account instead.
- For privacy, Cruise Buddy says the same thing whether or not an address has an account: "If the address is eligible, a one-time link is on its way."
On a device you haven't used before, you then unlock it with your recovery code or passphrase.
No email?
Check your spam or promotions folder, and search for cruise-buddy.app. If you've asked for several links in a row, wait a few minutes: only three unused links can be outstanding for an address at once, so that nobody can flood your inbox with them.
If signing in doesn't work

| This Cruise Buddy account was deleted and cannot be recreated automatically. | The address belongs to an account that was deleted. Contact support if that's unexpected. |
| The sign-in service could not complete that request. | A temporary problem on our side. Try again shortly. |
What your account holds
Your account holds an encrypted copy of everything you put into Cruise Buddy, so that it can reach your other devices. We cannot read it: it's encrypted in your browser with a key only your devices hold. See Encrypted Sync & Devices for what that means in practice, including what the server can and cannot see.
Alongside that, we keep what we need to run your account in plain form:
- Your name and email address.
- Whether you have Cruise Buddy Plus, and why.
- Cruises a travel agent set up for you.
- The devices signed in to your account, and when each last synced.
- The due times of reminders on devices where you've turned on notifications — but not what the reminders say.
Staying signed in
You stay signed in on a device until you sign out, and Cruise Buddy renews your session quietly in the background. If you haven't opened Cruise Buddy on a device for about six months, you'll be asked to sign in again.
A browser left unused for seven days locks itself to protect your data, and needs your recovery code or passphrase to open again.
Signing out
Open the Account menu and choose Sign out, or use Sign out in Settings → Plan and account.
Signing out removes your cruises and your key from this device. Everything that has synced stays on your account and on your other devices, and comes back when you sign in again. If anything hasn't synced yet, Cruise Buddy warns you first.
Deleting your account
Settings → Plan and account → Delete account, then type DELETE to confirm.
This permanently deletes your account and the encrypted copy of your cruises on our server. It cannot be undone, and it is not the same as signing out.
Deleting ends Plus
Any Cruise Buddy Plus on the account ends when it is deleted, and Plus purchases are not refunded. An address whose account was deleted can't simply register again; contact support if you want to come back.
