Cruise Buddy

Overview ​

The Overview is your at-a-glance summary for a single cruise. It pulls the most important details from every other section together so you don't have to dig for them.

Cruise overview card ​

The card at the top shows:

  • A status headline — for example "32 days to go", "Cruise in progress" or "Cruise complete".
  • The cruise line and ship.
  • The dates.
  • The route — "Southampton · round trip", or "Southampton → Barcelona" when you return to a different port.
  • The cruise reference, if entered.

Beside it are the number of Nights and Guests. Guests is the number of people you've added to the cruise, or the Number travelling from the cruise details if you haven't named anyone.

Browser Overview during your trip ​

In the browser app, Overview changes automatically one hour after your embarkation check-in time. With no check-in time saved, it changes at midnight after boarding day. Set check-in and check-out under Edit cruise, using local times and the appropriate port time zones. Until a zone is confirmed, Cruise Buddy temporarily uses your device time zone and shows a reminder.

The onboard Overview prioritises today’s itinerary and weather or sea conditions, followed by the next itinerary day, cabin and assembly station, onboard credit, and disembarkation details. Today follows your device’s calendar. Weather retains its existing Plus access and availability rules. Travel bookings and payments remain in their usual sections.

At your check-out time, or midnight after the return day when no time is set, the Overview becomes a completed-trip summary. It retains cabin details and the itinerary without current weather or upcoming stops. Check-out uses the disembarkation port time zone.

These Overview and editing changes apply to the browser. Updated phone versions preserve the new details through sync.

Next stop ​

The next itinerary day from today — labelled Departing from before the cruise and Next stop once it has started — with the port's photograph where Cruise Buddy has one, the date and call times. View port details (or View day details on a sea day) opens that Itinerary Day.

Getting there ​

Four cards for Flight, Hotel, Parking and Car hire, each showing the earliest booking of that kind — flight number, route, departure time and terminal; hotel, stay and address; car park, drop-off and pick-up; hire company, vehicle, pick-up and drop-off — and its booking reference.

Select a card to go to Travel. A card with nothing booked offers to add one. When a booking has an address or location, Directions opens it in Google Maps in a new tab.

Booking & cabin ​

  • Ship — with a Ship details link to the ship's page.
  • Booking reference.
  • Cabin — number and type.
  • Deck.
  • Assembly station (muster station) — in the browser app.
  • Onboard credit.

Anything you haven't entered says Not set. Use Edit cruise in the header to fill it in.

Balance ​

How much is left to pay, with a progress bar and the percentage paid — for example "64% paid · £2,300.00 of £3,600.00". It's worked out from the cruise price and the payments in Money. With no cruise price, it offers Add cruise price.

Your party ​

How many are travelling, and a link to each person you've added to the cruise. Select View party to go to the cruise's People section, or a name to open that person.

Editing ​

Tap Edit cruise in the header to change any detail of the cruise.
