Overview Tab

The Overview tab is your at-a-glance summary for a single cruise. It assembles the most important information from every other tab into a scrollable list of tiles so you don't have to dig through each tab individually.

On a fly cruise, a live flight departures board also appears near the top as each flight gets close to departure.

Countdown card

The hero card at the top shows:

  • A countdown headline — for example "32 days to go", "Cruise in progress", "Sails today", or "Cruise complete" — based on today's date relative to the cruise's start and end dates.
  • The cruise line and start / end dates.
  • The cruise reference, if entered.
  • The departure port and, if different, the disembarkation port.

Info tiles

Below the countdown card, a set of tiles surfaces key details. Tiles are only shown when the relevant data has been filled in — there's no clutter from empty fields.

Ship

Shows the ship name. If the ship matches one in Cruise Buddy's bundled reference list, the tile is tappable and opens the Ship details screen. If the ship isn't recognised, the tile still shows the name but isn't tappable.

Booking reference

Your agent or website booking reference.

Cabin

The cabin number and type (e.g. "14072 • Balcony"). Only shown when a cabin number has been entered. When you edit a cruise, the Cabin type field can suggest categories from the selected ship's reference data while still allowing your own wording.

Deck

The deck number. If bundled deck plans are available for the ship, the tile is tappable and opens the Deck Plans viewer, defaulting to your deck.

Onboard credit

The onboard credit amount entered in the Price step of the wizard, shown as a GBP value. See also the Spend tab where the credit appears as a negative spend item.

Left to pay

Only shown when a cruise price has been entered. Displays:

  • Amount remaining — the cruise price minus the total of all recorded payments (e.g. "£1,200.00 of £3,600.00").
  • Countdown to the final balance due date — shown on a second line when a due date has been set.

The countdown text changes based on how far away the due date is:

SituationText shown
Due date is in the future"X years, Y months & Z days until balance due" (only non-zero parts shown, e.g. "2 months & 14 days until balance due")
Due today"Balance due today"
Due date has passed"Balance due date passed"
No due date set(no second line)

Tap this tile to jump straight to the Balance tab.

Party size

The number of travellers in the party. When people from your People list have been assigned to the cruise, each person appears as a tappable chip below the count. Tapping a chip opens that person's detail screen.

Next hotel

The first hotel from the Travel tab, showing the hotel name and check-in date. Tappable — opens a detail sheet with the full hotel record (name, provider, address, check-in/check-out, booking reference, phone, email, notes) and an Edit button. Only shown when at least one hotel has been added.

First flight

The first flight, showing airline, flight number and departure date. Tappable — opens a detail sheet with all flight fields (airline, flight number, airports, departure/arrival times, terminal, booking reference, passenger names, notes) and an Edit button. Only shown when Fly cruise is enabled on the cruise and at least one flight has been added.

Parking

The first parking booking, showing the company and location. Tappable — opens a detail sheet with the full parking record (company, location, vehicle registration, booking reference, drop-off/pick-up times, notes) and an Edit button. Only shown when at least one parking record has been added.

Car hire

The first car hire record, showing the hire company and pickup location. Tappable — opens a detail sheet with the full car hire record (hire company, pickup/drop-off locations, pickup/drop-off times, driver name, vehicle class, booking reference, notes) and an Edit button. Only shown when at least one car hire record has been added.

Where to next

The next upcoming itinerary day — the first day on or after today — showing the date and either the port name or "Sea day". Tap to open that Itinerary Day screen.

Editing

To edit the cruise (name, dates, cabin, price, assigned people), tap Edit in the cruise's action menu. This reopens the four-step wizard from Add Your First Cruise populated with your existing values.
