Getting Started ​

Cruise Buddy is built around a simple idea: every cruise has lots of moving parts, and you shouldn't have to dig through emails, screenshots and notes apps to find them. Once you add a cruise, everything that belongs to that trip — itinerary, excursions, packing list, payments, documents, notes — lives in one place.

This section gets you up and running:

  • Add Your First Cruise — the four-step wizard for creating a cruise.
  • Guided Setup — the first-launch welcome and the optional step-by-step walkthrough.
  • Dashboard — how Active, Upcoming and Past cruises are organised.

How Cruise Buddy is organised ​

Cruise Buddy has four main areas, available from the bottom navigation bar:

  • Cruises — your dashboard. Shows every cruise you've added, grouped by status, with a daily cruise tip at the top.
  • People — store passport, travel and medical details for everyone in your party, protected by an extra biometric/PIN lock.
  • Place History — a world map of every port you've ever called at, drawn from the itineraries of your past cruises.
  • Settings — app lock, appearance, daily tips, local backup and help.

What you can track per cruise ​

Each cruise you add has its own detail screen with a tab for each kind of information:

  • Overview — countdown, info tiles for ship, cabin, balance remaining, party, travel and next port.
  • Planner — estimate the cost of onboard Wi-Fi, a drinks package and gratuities.
  • Itinerary — port and sea days with arrival/departure times and notes.
  • Travel — hotels, flights, parking, car hire and any other travel additions.
  • Docs — PDFs and images attached to the cruise.
  • Packing — categorised packing list with packed checkboxes.
  • ToDo — pre-cruise jobs grouped by category.
  • Journal — personal diary entries with photos, mood tracking, GPS location and people tagging.
  • Balance — cruise price, payments, deposit and final balance due date.
  • Spend — onboard credit and onboard spending.

Open any individual port or sea day from the Itinerary tab and you'll get day-level tabs for excursions, weather and marine conditions, a map, day-specific documents and reminders.

Local first, with optional sharing ​

Cruise Buddy stores all of your cruise data locally on your device. There is no account to create. When you want to share a trip with a travel partner you can generate an encrypted, expiring Traveller share link — or give someone following from home a read-only Follower link. All data is decrypted on the recipient's phone, never on the server.
