Restoring an Earlier Purchase
Cruise Buddy used to be a paid phone app. If you bought it back then, Cruise Buddy Plus is yours permanently — you are not expected to pay again, and there is no renewal date attached to it.
Don't buy Plus again
If you paid for the original app, don't use Get Plus in the web app. As the Plus page says, legacy access is handled separately from that checkout and will not charge you again.
Why you have to do anything at all
When you bought the app there were no accounts, so your purchase was recorded against your Apple or Google account rather than anything of ours. Cruise Buddy is now a web app with its own accounts, so that purchase needs connecting to your Cruise Buddy account once. After that it follows you to every device you sign in to.
How to do it
- Create your Cruise Buddy account if you haven't already.
- Email us from the address you signed up with, and include your receipt for the original app — the receipt email from Apple or Google, or a screenshot of the purchase in your Apple or Google purchase history.
- We'll check it and add Plus to your account by hand, and let you know when it's done.
Plus then appears on every device you're signed in on the next time it syncs. Settings → Plan and account will say Cruise Buddy Plus.
What "permanent" means here
A legacy purchase:
- Never expires and has no renewal.
- Covers every cruise on your account, not just one.
- Lifts the two-cruise limit.
- Is never revoked automatically by anything.
If you delete your Cruise Buddy account it goes with it, so get in touch before doing that.
Cruises in the old app
The web app can't read cruises stored inside the old phone app or its backups. If you have cruises there you'd like to keep, mention it when you email us and we'll help you bring them across.
