Reminders
Reminders schedule a system notification on your device for a specific time. Use them for things like "30 minutes before muster drill", "leave for the airport at 06:00", "final balance due tomorrow".

Reminders live on each Itinerary Day so they sit close to the thing they're reminding you of.
Adding a reminder
Tap + to add a reminder. You'll be asked for:
- Title — what the notification will say.
- Scheduled time — date and time. The picker defaults to a time relevant to the day you're on.
Cruise Buddy schedules a local notification with your device's notification system; nothing is sent to a server.
When the reminder fires
When the time comes, your device shows a normal notification with the title you entered. Tapping it deep-links back into Cruise Buddy on the relevant itinerary day.
For reminders to fire reliably:
- Make sure notifications are enabled for Cruise Buddy in your device's settings.
- The device needs to be on (or the reminder is at a time the device is awake).
- iOS and Android both batch notifications when the device is in low-power mode — reminders may be delivered slightly late in those cases.
Marking complete
Each reminder has a Done checkbox. Ticking it doesn't cancel a notification that's already been delivered, but it stops Cruise Buddy from showing the reminder as outstanding on the day's tab.
Editing or deleting
- Tap a reminder to edit the title or time. Cruise Buddy reschedules the notification accordingly.
- Swipe to Delete. The pending notification is cancelled too.
Reminders vs ToDo
- ToDo — pre-cruise tasks, no time attached. "Have I done this?"
- Reminders — notifications at a specific time. "Tell me when this is happening."
There's no automatic link between the two — if you create a to-do that needs a notification, also add a reminder pointing at it.
