Reminders ​

Reminders are for things that happen at a particular time: "leave for the airport at 06:00", "muster drill at 16:30", "final balance due tomorrow". With notifications turned on, each reminder arrives on your device when it's due.

Where reminders live ​

  • On an Itinerary Day, in the Reminders section — for anything tied to that port or sea day.
  • On the cruise's To-do section, beneath your tasks — for anything else, like the final balance or leaving for the port.

Adding a reminder ​

Tap Add reminder and fill in:

  • Remind me to — what the notification will say.
  • When — the date and time.

Each reminder has Edit and Delete. Changing or deleting a reminder updates its notification.

Notifications ​

Beneath each list of reminders, Cruise Buddy says whether this device will notify you, with a button to turn notifications on if it won't. See Reminder Notifications for how to set it up on each device — on iPhone and iPad, Cruise Buddy has to be added to the Home Screen first.

Reminders sync to all your devices. Each device where you've turned notifications on will notify you.

Privacy ​

Our server can't read your reminders. To wake your device at the right moment it's told only when each reminder is due; your device writes the notification from its own copy. See How they reach you privately.

Reminders vs to-do ​

  • To-do — jobs with no particular time. "Have I done this?"
  • Reminders — a notification at a specific time. "Tell me when this is happening."
