Dashboard
The Dashboard is the first screen you see when you open Cruise Buddy. It shows every cruise you've added, grouped by status, with a daily cruise tip at the top.

Header
The Dashboard opens with a hero banner — a photo, the Cruise Buddy name, and the New cruise button. Beneath the name you'll see a short, rotating piece of flavour text (for example "Plotting a course to sunshine…"). It's purely cosmetic, changes each time the Dashboard loads, and has no setting to configure.
Daily tip
The card at the top of the Dashboard shows a single cruise tip, refreshed once a day. Tips cover everything from packing essentials to onboard etiquette to port-day strategy. You can turn tips off in Settings → Daily tips.
Sections
Cruises are grouped into three sections based on their start and end dates:
- Active — cruises that are happening right now. The countdown shows "Cruise in progress".
- Upcoming — cruises in the future. The countdown shows the days remaining until departure.
- Past — cruises that have finished. The countdown shows how long ago they ended.
Empty sections are hidden. If you've never added a cruise, you'll see the empty state with a New cruise button instead.
Cruise cards
Each card shows:
- The cruise name.
- The cruise line and dates.
- A countdown label — for example "32 days to go" or "Cruise complete".
- The departure port.
Tap a card to open the Cruise Detail screen.
Swipe actions
Swipe a cruise card horizontally to reveal the quick actions:
- Swipe left → right (delete) — opens a confirmation dialog. Deleting a cruise removes the cruise and every associated itinerary day, excursion, document, packing item, to-do, note, payment, spend record and travel item. This cannot be undone.
- Swipe right → left (edit) — opens the four-step edit wizard for the cruise.

Adding more cruises
Once you've got at least one cruise, the floating New cruise button at the bottom right opens the Add Your First Cruise wizard. There's also an Add another cruise button in the action bar of any open cruise.
