Settings ​

The third tab in the bottom navigation collects everything that applies to Cruise Buddy as a whole, rather than to any one cruise.

The settings screen is grouped into labelled cards:

  • Privacy & Security
    • App lock — require biometrics or your device PIN before opening Cruise Buddy.
  • Preferences
    • Appearance — System / Light / Dark theme.
    • Currency — the currency used to show money throughout the app.
    • Daily tips — show or hide the daily tip card on the dashboard.
  • Data & Backup
    • Local backup — export and restore a snapshot of your cruise data.
  • Setup
    • First cruise guided setup — re-run the guided setup checklist.
  • Help & About
    • Help — contact, support, system status, feedback, bug reports.
    • Open source & data services — the Credits screen listing the projects, data services and photographers Cruise Buddy relies on.
  • Version — the installed Cruise Buddy version, useful when reporting issues.

There's also a credit line at the bottom of the screen: Designed & Built by Owl Media.

  • Home screen widgets — add a cruise countdown and trip status to your phone's home screen. These are added from your home screen rather than from inside Settings.
