Packing Tab ​

The Packing tab is your packing list for the cruise. Items are grouped by category so you can scan them quickly and tick them off as you pack.

Starting your packing list ​

When the tab is empty, Cruise Buddy gives you three ways to get started:

  • Add starter list — adds a built-in set of cruise essentials across common categories (Documents, Clothes, Toiletries, Electronics, etc.). A good starting point you can then trim or extend.
  • Copy from previous cruise — copies every packing item from your most recent past cruise. If no previous cruise is found, or that cruise had no packing items, Cruise Buddy will tell you.
  • Add one item — skips to the add form so you can build the list your own way from the first item.

Once you have at least one item, a + floating action button appears to add more.

Filtering by category ​

A row of filter chips at the top of the list lets you narrow to a single category. All shows everything; tap a category name to focus on just those items. Useful on packing day when you want to work through one bag at a time.

Adding items ​

Tap + to add a packing item. You'll be asked for:

  • Title — what to pack ("Sunglasses", "Adaptor plug").
  • Category — pick from your existing categories or type a new one. Common categories include Documents, Clothes, Toiletries, Electronics, Medicines, Formal night.

Items with the same category group together automatically.

Ticking off ​

Each item has a checkbox. Tapping it marks the item as packed. The category headers show a "packed / total" count so you can see at a glance how far you've got.

Packed items stay in place — they don't drop to the bottom of the list — so you can still see what's done at a glance.

Editing and deleting ​

  • Tap an item to edit its title or category.
  • Swipe an item to reveal Delete.

Resetting the list ​

There's no single bulk-reset button. Uncheck items individually to reset them for the next trip, or use Copy from previous cruise on your next cruise to pull the list across fresh (all items will be unchecked on the new cruise).

Packing lists and sharing

Packing lists are personal to your device and are not included in cruise share links. If you want a travel partner to have a copy, they can use Add starter list or Copy from previous cruise on their own device.
