Map ​

The Map tab shows the day's location on an interactive map.

Port days ​

For a port day, the map drops a pin on the port's coordinates. You can:

  • Pinch to zoom in and out.
  • Drag to pan.
  • Tap the pin to see the port name and country.

Sea days ​

For a sea day with surrounding port calls, the map draws a straight line between the previous and next ports and marks the estimated mid-point. It's a rough guide — actual ship tracks vary — but it's useful for getting your bearings.

If Cruise Buddy can't place a sea day (no surrounding port calls), the Map tab shows an empty world map with a message.

Tiles ​

Map tiles are served from OpenStreetMap. Tiles you've viewed are cached locally so revisiting the same area doesn't re-download them, but the first view of a port requires a connection.

Setting or correcting coordinates ​

If the pin is in the wrong place — for example, Cruise Buddy geocoded "St Petersburg" to the wrong city — open Edit day in the action menu and:

  • Enter the Country to narrow the geocode.
  • Or enter the latitude and longitude manually.

Once corrected, the map, Conditions tab and Place History screen all use the new coordinates.

Privacy ​

Map tile requests go to OpenStreetMap with the tile coordinates only. Cruise Buddy doesn't send any cruise or account information.
