Contact support
Opens Support, where you can tell us about a problem or ask for help without leaving Cruise Buddy, and read our replies.

Raising a request
Tap New request, choose what it is about, and describe what happened. Two things are optional:
- Include diagnostic info adds the app version, your browser and the state of sync. Tap See what is included to read it first. It describes the app and your browser only, with none of your cruises, people or documents.
- Attach a screenshot or file adds up to five pictures, PDFs or documents, 25 MB each.
We can read what you send us
Your cruises are end-to-end encrypted, and we cannot read them. A support request is different: we can read your message and open any file you attach, because that is how we help. Leave out anything you would not want us to see, and never include your recovery code or passphrase. We will never ask for them.
Reading and replying
Each request shows its status and a reference such as CB-000123. We reply inside the request, and email you to say there is something to read. A request with an answer you have not opened is marked New reply, and Contact support in Settings shows how many there are.
Reply as often as you need. Replying to a request we marked Resolved reopens it. A Closed request cannot be added to, so raise a new one.
If your problem is sorted, tap Mark as resolved on the request so we know we can stop working on it. If it comes back, reply and the request reopens. You can do the same from the page the emailed link opens if you contacted us without signing in.
Support needs a connection. Requests are kept with your account rather than on your device, so they are there on any device you sign in to.
If you cannot sign in
The sign-in screen has a Contact support link, which opens the contact form on our website. Fill it in with an email address you can open, complete the quick check that you are a person, and we send you a link to your request. We reply on that page, so keep the email: the link is the way back to it.
If Contact support is not shown
Support in the app can be switched off. When it is, Contact support is not listed and Bugs and issues, below, is there instead.
Contact us
Opens the Cruise Buddy contact and support page — for anything specific to your account, a stuck import, or a question about Plus.
Support portal
Opens this documentation site in a new tab.
Feedback and ideas
Starts an email to support with your suggestion. You can also suggest features and vote on other people's ideas on the feedback portal.
Bugs and issues
Shown when support in the app is switched off. Starts an email to support with diagnostic info already included, so we can see which version, browser and device you're using. Tell us what you expected to happen, what actually happened, and the steps to reproduce it if you have them. Screenshots are very welcome.
Diagnostic info
Always listed, whichever way you contact us. Tap See what is included to read exactly what the diagnostic info contains before anything is sent, and Copy diagnostic info to paste it somewhere else. It describes the app and your browser only — none of your cruises, people or documents.
System status
Shows whether Cruise Buddy's services are reachable from your device:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Operational | Everything should work as expected. |
| Service notice | A message from us about planned work or a known problem, shown underneath. The app usually carries on working. |
| Unavailable | Cruise Buddy can't reach its services right now. You can keep working — changes are kept on this device and sync once the service is back. |
| Checking… | The check is in progress. |
The status is checked when you open Settings. Tap Check again to refresh it.
Updates
Cruise Buddy updates itself. There's nothing to download: the next time you open it after an update, you're on the new version. The version and build number are shown at the bottom of Settings.
Credits and attribution
Settings → Credits and attribution lists the services Cruise Buddy relies on — Open-Meteo for weather and sea conditions, OpenStreetMap for maps, Photon by Komoot for location search, and Apple Maps and Google Maps for directions — and credits the photographers whose pictures appear on itinerary ports.
